The Harmony Project: Phase 1 - Acquisition

The Harmony Project is an initiative designed to bring the arts to the heart of Santa Paula and its surrounding cities, creating a vibrant, inclusive community hub for artistic expression and personal growth. Through a diverse range of programs in dance, music, theater, visual arts, magic, film, and more, The Harmony Project will provide opportunities for individuals of all ages to discover, develop, and refine their artistic talents.

In addition to offering creative outlets for children, the project will engage adults in meaningful arts education, ensuring that people of all ages can enrich their lives through the power of creativity. Many of the programs will be available as after-school and homeschool options, offering a safe space for students when they return to empty homes, while also promoting academic success, social-emotional development, and personal resilience.

This space will also feature a beautiful 125-seat theater, an auditorium, and a commercial kitchen, enabling us to collaborate with local organizations and enhance live entertainment for the community. The facilities will serve as a gathering place for social groups, seniors, and the wider community, offering everything from community theater performances to educational events and social gatherings.

Ultimately, The Harmony Project will foster a stronger, more connected community by providing a safe, inclusive environment where individuals can express themselves, build skills, and find belonging—while also contributing to the cultural fabric of Santa Paula and its neighboring cities.

If you are unable to support us monetarily but would like to get more involved, please reach out to our Executive Director, James Lantiegne, at info@thomagic.org. We would love to discuss how you can engage with this project and help us create lasting change in the community.

How does it begin?

The Harmony Project begins with the acquisition of the Masonic Temple building in the heart of Santa Paula. This historic building will serve as the foundation for a unique and one-of-a-kind facility that will offer a vibrant space for artistic expression, community engagement, and education. By transforming this space, we will create a hub where the arts come to life, bringing together people of all ages to discover, create, and celebrate through a wide variety of programs.

The Masonic Temple’s central location and versatile layout make it an ideal setting for the wide range of activities Project Harmony plans to offer. With its beautiful 125-seat theater, auditorium, and commercial kitchen, this space will be transformed into a fully functional cultural venue where live entertainment, community events, and educational opportunities can flourish. It will not only serve as a resource for artistic development but also as a place for social connection, bringing together residents from Santa Paula and surrounding cities to engage in enriching experiences.

This acquisition allows us to provide a much-needed creative hub for the community, offering a safe and supportive environment where children, adults, and families can explore the arts, build skills, and form lasting connections. The addition of this space will help cultivate a thriving arts community in Santa Paula, while offering a much-needed resource for the surrounding cities.

The realization of The Harmony Project comes with a significant investment of $2.5 million to acquire and transform the Masonic Temple building into a thriving cultural hub for our community.
